About our Music Director - Henry Renglich
Henry Renglich is an established choral conductor who brings a wealth of musical experience to Etobicoke Centennial Choir. He holds a degree in Honours Theory, a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Piano Performance from McGill University and a Bachelor of Education from York University. Henry taught music theory at McGill University and the University of Waterloo and was active as a chamber musician, accompanist and as a coach to other young accompanists. His improvisational skills were in demand at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Linda Rabin Danse Moderne.
Henry's operatic experience includes work with Toronto Opera Repertoire, Coro Verdi and as Chorus Director for Opera Hamilton. In addition, he coaches and accompanies vocalists in many genres ranging from classical and operatic to contemporary and musical theatre. Henry has composed a variety of musical and theatrical works including a cabaret for The National Theatre School and was Musical Director for the Piggery Theatre in Quebec.
An experienced music pedagogue who believes strongly in quality music education for young children, Henry always finds time to teach in schools. His children's choirs have won numerous awards and been chosen for professional theatrical productions. He currently teaches at Central Montessori School in Toronto, where he directs the choirs, bands, and musical theatre productions.
